Holiday party checklist: create an event your guests will remember!

Holiday party planning checklist by CEC Classic Events and Catering

Planning a holiday party that your guests will love doesn't have to be complicated. Following a few basic steps will ensure you make the most of your time and get the essentials taken care of.

1) Decide when your party will take place

Think about a date and time that works well for a majority of your guests. Also select a date for when your guests should RSVP by.

2) Select a location to host your event

Whether you will be hosting the event at your home or at a local banquet hall, it's important to consider the logistics like parking, transportation, space, etc. And having enough space to accommodate all of your guests is essential. It doesn't matter how beautiful your home/office is if people don't have space to move around and enjoy themselves.

3) Choose a theme and types of food you're going to offer

What type of party are you planning? What types of food will you serve? Are you going to prepare all of the food yourself or are you going to hire a caterer to do everything for you? Are you going to need to purchase decorations, hire a band, or rent additional tables/chairs?
